You recognize Bayreuth as a Wagner's city with the annual festival - but do you also now the other site of Bayreuth with its museums, theaters, castles and the nature around? Of course, Bayreuth is famous for Richard Wagner, but our city has much more to offer.
In guided tours, you will see the Staatsgalerie in the new castle, the Eremitage with its extensive parks, the opera of the margrave and many other buildings.
For beer lovers, we have the museum of the brewery Maisel and offer you a view down in the catacombes under the Bayreuth AKTIEN-Brewery.
If you want more music or literature, take a tour to the Jean-Paul-Mueum or the Franz-Liszt-Musum. This exceptionally gifted musician was, by the way, Wagner's father-in-law.
Do you miss the nature? In the Sanspareil rock garden, in the baroque garden of castle Birken, that has just been refurbished to its original form, or in the botanical garden of Bayreuth university, you can enjoy the calm and relax.
You are looking for adventures? Mountain biking, hiking, beer tours or guided tours with a quad?
Visit the climbing park in Bischofsgrün, a dirt-devil-track, do drives with a cabriolet or biking tours in the franconian swiss, trips in a horse buggy, canooing, visit concerts, baths and thermal springs, the playmobild funpark and....
I doesn't matter, what you want to do: with Bayreuth as a starting point, it's easy to get to all those different spare time offers.
But there is one garden, that we want to suggest especially, a garden, where you can finish your day, maybe with an original Bayreuth beer: our "Löwengärtla".
